Justin Bieber to join One Direction

Justin Bieber is to become the sixth member of One Direction.

The shock collaboration has been orchestrated by his manager Scooter Braun, who wants the 'Believe' star to work in a positive environment following weeks of negative headlines.

Braun believes that working with One Direction - who are well-known for their good natured fun - will help Bieber focus after a spate of bad press.

The Canadian - who was slated recently for turning up late to a London gig before lashing out at a cameraman - will join the 'Kiss You' stars on tour after the summer.

He will work with them on a new album, which will mark the follow-up to 2012's hit record 'Take Me Home'.

Little information has emerged about the album, but its working title has been confirmed as 'Airplay Floods'.

It is unclear what name the boyband will now take after the addition of Bieber, but rumours that they will be called 'One Direction and Justin Bieber' or '1DJB' have yet to be confirmed.

NOTE: If you hadn't guessed already, this story was an April Fool's Day gag!
