Joan Rivers has declined the opportunity to say sorry to Adele for making fun of her weight.

As previously reported, the acerbic US comedienne turned heads recently by slagging off the singer's body weight whilst on a chat show.

In a new interview with HuffPost Live, Rivers continued her tirade of jokes against the '21' star, refusing to apologise for her jibes. She said:

"It was funny. She's a chubby lady who's very, very rich. She should just calm down - or lose weight.

Rivers continued: "And she wanted an apology - so I took an ad out on her ass. I said, 'You are not fat', and then I had room left for a lot of other ads. Let's face reality - she's fat."
