TV host Carol Vorderman says she is "amused" by suggestions she is Harry Styles' perfect woman.

The 52-year-old is something of a British institution after appearing on cult show Countdown for 26 years.

It had been reported in the media that 19-year-old One Direction star Styles has the hots for the presenter and speaking to TV Extra, Vorderman said that she finds the story funny. The TV star said:

"It's very amusing! To me it shows that younger people don't have the attitude to age that older people have."

Vorderman continued: "I can go out with a group of friends in their 30s and they don't think, 'Oh, Carol's knocking on a bit!'. Younger people don't think twice about age - I think it's my age group and older who have more difficulty."
