Red Hot Chili Peppers to perform for the Dalai Lama

It has been revealed that 'Under The Bridge' rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform for the Dalai Lama next month while he visits the state of Oregon in America.

The band, who recently headlined Coachella music festival in California, will treat His Holiness to a live set during his forthcoming trip to Maitripa College in Portland, Oregon on May 11 as part of the Dalai Lama Environmental Summit.

A statement, released by Consequence of Sound, explains: "The musical element of this event is intended to be a display of joyful celebration and an inspiration to future generations to care for our planet. The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been great supporters of the Tibetan cause, of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and of the need to work to protect and preserve our environment."

Meanwhile, the group took to their official Twitter page earlier today (April 18) and informed their followers that a download of their Coachella set is now available to buy: "The live download from Coachella on April 14th is now available for purchase."
