Jason Derulo to open up about neck fracture in E! special

'Ridin' Solo' hitmaker Jason Derulo has signed up to do a half-hour special with the E! channel that will detail his terrifying neck fracture that saw him pull out of a world tour last year.

Entitled 'The Untold Story: Jason Derulo', the show will be broadcast at 10 p.m. ET/PT on May 14 in the USA and a representative from the channel issued a statement on the special, which reads:

"Simon Cowell said he would be huge, Lady Gaga said he's "a freakin' superstar," and Jordin Sparks calls him, boyfriend. He was well on his way to the top when an injury sidelined his career, and could have nearly ended his life."

"This half-hour special is a turbulent ride with Derulo as he battles his way back from injury. With never-before-seen footage and exclusive behind-the-scenes access, we'll uncover the real man behind the persona of music royalty's newest member."

Derulo's new single, entitled 'The Other Side', was recently played on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show for the first time and will be released on June 16. He has also been working on a brand new album, which is currently untitled.
