Rare guitar played by The Beatles to be auctioned

A guitar played by two members of The Beatles is expected reach between £130,000 and £200,000 when it goes up for auction next week.

The custom VOX guitar, which was played by both John Lennon and George Harrison in the late 1960s, is due to be sold at Julien's Auctions in New York on May 18.

It is scheduled to go on show meanwhile at the Stafford London Hotel from Thursday (May 9) to Saturday (May 11).

The guitar, which was made in 1966, was given to friend of the band 'Magic Alex' Pardas as a gift by John Lennon.

As reported, Paul McCartney recently performed a number of Beatles songs previously unplayed live as he takes his solo tour around the world.
