One Direction have visited Real Madrid whilst in Spain.

Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson met up with the football club's squad as they trained in the sunshine.

The singers rubbed shoulders with global stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo as they continued their love affair with the beautiful game.

The boyband recently spent time with Newcastle United, whilst they also had a kickabout at Wembley Stadium after announcing their 2014 Where We Are tour.

Niall Horan said on the Real Madrid website: "We are in the middle of a European tour right now and we will be performing in Madrid. They told us that we had the opportunity to come to see the Real Madrid players and that is very exciting for us. It is amazing to see how they train and see so many such good players. We are big football fans and Real Madrid are one of the best teams on the planet."

Louis Tomlinson meanwhile simply said: "They are great".
