Little Mix have heaped praise on this year's BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend event.

The girl group played live at the star-studded shindig on Sunday (May 26) in Derry, Northern Ireland.

Speaking to the BBC, Jesy Nelson said that it was one of their best ever gigs to date. She said:

"We were just loving it. It was our first proper festival we've ever done and we can say that was one of our favourite performances we've ever done."

This year's Big Weekend was headlined by Calvin Harris, Biffy Clyro and Bruno Mars.

Roughly 40,000 fans attended the event as the outdoor Ebrington Square venue hosted some of the biggest names in music.
