Courtney Love: 'Frances Bean was offered the role of Bella Swan in 'Twilight''

Rocker Courtney Love has revealed that her daughter was offered one of the leading roles in the 'Twilight' movies, but she turned it down because she thought it was a "sexist Mormon piece of s***".

Speaking to radio DJ Howard Stern, Love explained that 20-year-old Frances Bean (whose father is the late Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain) was only 13 at the time, but still knew that the part of Bella Swan definitely wasn't something she wanted to take on:

"When she was 13 she was offered Twilight, she was offered (the part of) Bella in Twilight. Someone just saw a picture of her in a magazine and sent me the script for Twilight. She was like, 'That's a sexist Mormon piece of s***'. She was 13. It would have destroyed her life."

Actress Kristen Stewart (pictured below) stepped into the role and has starred in the franchise as Bella Swan since the first film back in 2008.

Writing on her official Twitter page last week, Bean admitted that she's relieved not to have fallen into any bad celebrity habits: "I'd like to thank my parents for providing me with a high IQ & I'd like to thank my grams for encouraging me not to be a self absorbed idiot."

She also confirmed that Twitter is the only social media portal she uses, adding: "I do not have any other public accounts outside of this twitter I.e. Instagram, facebook, vine, tumblr & whatever the f**k else is out there."
