Songwriter Wayne Hector on new One Direction album: "It's almost finished"

Songwriter Wayne Hector has given an update on the progress of One Direction's next album.

The music maestro has worked with the group previously on the tracks 'Same Mistakes' and 'Everything About You'.

He has been helping the band create the follow-up to their 2012 sophomore effort 'Take Me Home' and speaking to Digital Spy, Hector said that their next record is almost complete. He revealed:

"[One Direction have] definitely gone for a more mature sound. It's still fun, but there are some really cool vibes coming from it. With this album, there's definitely a shift. I think it'll be really good. Hopefully there will be some good surprises on it."

Hector concluded: "It's coming out at Christmas so we're almost finished on it."

Some of Hector's other songwriting credits include JLS' 'Beat Again' and Westlife's soaring 'Flying Without Wings'.
