Reality TV star Kelly Osbourne's heart is "breaking" for troubled Paris Jackson.

The 15-year-old daughter of the late superstar Michael Jackson was hospitalised earlier this week after an attempted suicide.

Osbourne took to Twitter today to lament about Jackson's current state of mind: "My Heart is breaking for #ParisJackson people need to back off and let her be a kid! (sic)."

After confirming the news, Jackson's mother Debbie Rowe told Entertainment Tonight that the teenage star had “a lot going on".

Emergency officials said they responded to a reported overdose in the Calabasas area of Los Angeles where the young star lived, but did not identify the person.

Those around Jackson have revealed that she is recovering well after the suicide attempt.

Angel Howansky, her grandfather's publicist revealed: "She's recovering and, you know, a good thing it wasn't an intensive care situation. She's going to be fine."

A lawyer for Jackson's grandmother Katherine, Perry Sanders, also added that Jackson was "physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention".

Sanders continued: "Being a sensitive 15-year-old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you."

Meanwhile, Jackson's uncles Tito, Marlon and Jackie said in a statement: "Thank you for the outpouring of concern and support for Paris. She is safe and doing fine. We truly appreciate you respecting our family's privacy at this time.''

There are fears the fourth anniversary of Michael Jackson's death later this month may have prompted his teenage daughter's actions.
