One Direction star Zayn Malik has claimed that The Wanted's Max George declined to fight him in a boxing match.

The two British/Irish boybands have had something of a tumultuous relationship over the past number of months, with arguments taking place on Twitter.

The Wanted recently suggested that the two groups should have a charity boxing fight to settle their differences.

Speaking to The Metro, One Direction's Zayn Malik said that he has offered to pull on the gloves and fight George - something that The Wanted star seemingly isn't too keen on. He said:

"I already offered Max [George]. I asked him if he wants to fight. I've already said to him I'll fight him and he didn't want to."

Bandmate Louis Tomlinson added: "It is such b*llocks because they will not live up to their word."

It seems meanwhile that One Direction have accepted The Wanted's charity fight offer, with Liam Payne commenting: "We're all too busy anyway. When is this ever going to happen? We'd have to do it on a day off and that would be boring."

Tomlinson concluded: "I love an argument, but it's even got boring for me now. I mean...grow up."
