One Direction star Liam Payne has dismissed speculation that he was angry at fans for not letting him sleep.

The boyband played in Mexico recently and it seems their fanbase there is just as rowdy as elsewhere in the world.

Liam Payne originally tweeted: "Love that you guys love us I know u wanna see us and stuff but I really need to sleep ha or we are gunna have one sleepy ass Liam on stage."

However, after news spread of the singer being supposedly angry at fans, the 'Kiss You' star retorted today (June 11):

"Read some articles saying I'm mad over this whole sleep thing aha I'm not mad at anyone how could I be? I'm just grouchy in the morning ahaa."

Up next on One Direction's Take Me Home tour schedule meanwhile is a date in Florida on June 13.

They will then tour in North America until mid-August before heading to Australasia.
