Robin Thicke bags first US No.1 single

Robin Thicke has scored his first ever US No.1 single.

The singer's smash hit 'Blurred Lines' has jumped up from No.6 to the top of the Billboard Hot 100.

It means that the suave star is currently enjoying double success either side of the Atlantic, with the track also No.1 in the UK.

His US chart victory sees Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' 'Can't Hold Us' drop to No.2, whilst Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' is at No.3.

As previously reported, Robin Thicke recently admitted that he feels Justin Timberlake's foray into R&B sounds has "opened a door" for his own career. He said:

"[Justin Timberlake] actually helped me a lot because his sound went more R&B and soulful and that's what I've been doing my whole career, so it really opened up a door."
