Jay-Z to release new album in July

Jay-Z has confirmed plans to unleash a new album next month.

The rapper will initially unveil new collection 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' as part of a team-up with Samsung before it goes on sale to the public.

The record will be released to users of Samsung Galaxy SIII, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note II phones on July 4 via a special app.

It will then go on public sale on July 7.

The news was confirmed through an advert which was shown during an NBA game between Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs on Sunday (June 16).

Jay-Z says in the clip: "The album is about...this duality of how you navigate through this whole thing, through success, through failures, through all this and remain yourself."

Pharrell Williams, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz also appear in the video clip.
