Mick Jagger says 'being a singer isn't intellectually challenging'

Rolling Stones icon Mick Jagger has revealed that while being an international rock star is rewarding and exciting in its own right, it doesn't really stimulate his mind.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4, the legend explained that as a youngster he had a very different career path in mind as he was once a student at the London School of Economics, but he wouldn't trade his current life for anything:

"All these things that you think of when you're a teenager you could think well I would have liked to have done that, but that's completely pointless. I don't feel frustrated for lack of control at all and I’m very pleased with what I've done."

"Obviously you would have liked to have done, everyone wants to have done more things in their lives. But it’s a slightly intellectually undemanding thing to do being a rock singer but, you know, you make the best of it."

The Rolling Stones will headline Glastonbury Festival tomorrow night (June 29).
