'Mariah Carey's on-set accident was quite serious' says husband Nick Cannon

Nick Cannon, the husband of vocal sensation Mariah Carey, has revealed that the recent accident that took  place on the set of her new music video was a lot more serious than the press initially reported.

The 'Touch My Body' beauty was working on the promo video for a remix of her single '#Beautiful' when she 'slipped and fell on a platform', landing on her side. It was revealed that she had dislocated her shoulder, but Cannon told 'The Today Show' (July 9) that there was more to her injury than that:

"She's such a trooper. I was going to rush to the hospital with her, [but she said,] 'You get back in there and finish that video!' Then, after they put [her] shoulder back in place, bandaged her all up, she came back to the video early in the morning and finished out everything."

Referring to the incident, he added: "She was in this nice, beautiful gown, heels on and everything, and was kind of on this platform and reached and slipped and fell on her whole side. It was pretty serious. Not only did she dislocate her shoulder, she actually cracked a rib and... she chipped her shoulder bone."

Earlier tonight, Carey shared a photograph of herself with her arm in a sling (pictured above left) and reassured fans that she is fine.
