A designer has dismissed media reports that One Direction star Liam Payne indulged in champagne that costs £1.2m a bottle.

Alexander Amosu raised eyebrows recently after he posted an Instagram photo of the 'Kiss You' singer and Wizkid supping glitzy champagne at the rapper's London birthday party.

Some sections of the media then reported that the duo were drinking Goύt de Diamants champagne, which reportedly costs £1.2m a bottle and has a solid white gold label.

However, designer Amosu took to Instagram again to set the record straight. He said:

"Wow!!! Seems the media has taking my Instagram & changed it to there own. Swarovski diamond edition as stated in my Instagram is £350 not £1.2m (sic)"
