Music stars react to the birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton's baby son

Earlier this afternoon (July 22), Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton welcomed their first child into the world.

At 4.24pm BST, Middleton gave birth to a son who weighed a rather hefty 8lbs 6oz and the stars of music have been taking to their social networking accounts to congratulate the happy couple.

Singer Sinitta tweeted: "Huge Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and to the united Kingdom.. #3KingsToCome #RoyalBabyBoy, Beautiful week in London."

Jack Osbourne, who became a father himself just over a year ago (April 2012) took a more comical approach to his message and wrote: "EPIC!!!! a new prince was born. its like real life Game of Thrones #royalbaby."

Beauty Dionne Bromfield added: "Awww #ItsABoy congrats William and Kate #RoyalBabyBoy xx"

Vocal trio Stooshe also joined in with the well wishes and posted a tweet that read: "Congrats to Kate & Will on their new baby boy! ahhhh #Broody lol #RoyalBabyBoy K x"

Hundreds of people crowded around Buckingham Palace this evening for a glimpse of the easel, which is located in the palace's forecourt, as it confirms the exciting news (pictured below).
