Taylor Swift contest axed after internet users clubbed together to fix it

A competition organised by Massachusetts-based radio station Kiss 108 FM that boasted a grand prize of a Taylor Swift meet and greet has been axed after users of two popular websites pulled together to rig it for a joke.

The station was running a 'Taylor Swift's Biggest Fan' contest, but it attracted the wrong kind of attention after a man known only as Charles Z (pictured below in the bottom left corner) entered to win and someone he knew endorsed his entry, describing him as:

"A creepy 39-year-old friend named Charles would like to crush all those girls dreams (and then sniff Taylor Swift's hair cuz he's into that)... Help him crush the dreams of these girls and give him a chance to make a complete ass of himself by blatantly just sniffing her hair with the cameras rolling."

His post was soon noticed by 4chan.org and Reddit.com editors and they encouraged readers to vote him into the No.1 spot so that he could meet the 'I Knew You Were Trouble' beauty, but after this plan was discovered by Kiss 108 FM's managers the competition was called off. The station issued a statement on the decision:

"Disappointingly, we have determined that the integrity of the Taylor Swift's Biggest Fan contest has been compromised. In accordance with our contest rules, effective immediately, the contest has been terminated. We apologise to all of our loyal listeners who have participated."
