Gabrielle Aplin: "One Direction could be the Beatles of our generation"

Gabrielle Aplin believes One Direction's fame and talent could make them this generation's Beatles.

The Liverpool pop group were global icons in the 1960s and they were renowned for their musicianship as well as their melody.

Speaking to the Daily Star, songstress Aplin suggested that One Direction could be the 'Fab Five' of this generation.

She's so impressed by the group meanwhile that she also wants to pen a song for them. Aplin said:

"I'd love to write for One Direction. I think they've done incredibly well. Obviously they are very different musically, but they could be The Beatles of our generation.

“They are so famous it’s ridiculous. It’s not as if they are a group of boys who can’t sing – they are all talented. I don’t fan-girl Harry Styles but I think they've worked so hard to get where they are, so I would love to write something for them.”
