Alan Partridge worried that One Direction film will steal his thunder

Alan Partridge has admitted that he is annoyed One Direction are releasing a film around the same time as him.

The comedy character - played by British actor Steve Coogan - is starring in his debut feature movie Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, which is released on August 16.

However, One Direction are unleashing their maiden 3D flick This Is Us soon after and it looks like they could steal Partridge's thunder.

Speaking to ITN News at his movie's premiere on Wednesday (July 24), the radio host character confirmed that he is "worried" about the pop group releasing a film a scheduled two weeks after him.

He added: "In fact I was thinking about raising it with the Prime Minister this Sunday when I go for a pot roast with him and [the Daily Mail's] Quentin Letts and Paul Dacre."
