Backstreet Boys: 'We've grown up and can laugh at ourselves now'

American heartthrobs the Backstreet Boys have revealed that growing up in the music industry has taught them a lot and they're finally at a place where they're able to have a laugh and not take things so seriously.

During an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the 'Quit Playing Games With My Heart' superstars confessed that they're not watching people laughing at them and instead they're in on the jokes:

"We were finally able to accept the shoes that we’re in. We’ve also accepted we are what we are – most of our success was a while ago, in the late Nineties and early 2000s – and being able to poke fun at ourselves, like doing the Seth Rogen film, 'This Is The End', and doing the Old Navy commercial. We’re laughing with them instead of looking at them laughing at us.”

Member Nick Carter added that being asked to get involved in Rogen's new movie (pictured below) was amazing because the actors that feature in it are so well respected:

"These guys are current comedians in the mainstream and respected, and they call upon us to be in their movie. It was an honor. It’s just little things like that that happen that remind you."
