Cory Monteith to be remembered at the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards

The late 'Glee' star Cory Monteith will be honoured at the Primetime Emmy Awards in September with a special tribute.

The talented actor and singer was found dead in a hotel room in Canada earlier this month and a toxicology report confirmed that he passed away from a heroin and alcohol overdose.

The Emmy Awards' executive producer Ken Ehrlich explained in a statement that although there's not a lot of time to prepare a fitting tribute, the staff will work to produce something to remember Monteith by:

"Something that reflects an homage (is in the works but) what the extent of that is, or how we're going to approach it... well, it's too early to tell... If Cory had passed away in March, we'd have had four months to look at this with a little more perspective. The reason we're getting all of this discussion now is because he passed away two weeks ago. But we are going to deal with it."

This year's Primetime Emmys will take place on September 22 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
