Avicii headed for third week at No.1 with 'Wake Me Up'

Dance DJ Avicii has managed to hold on to his No.1 position in today's (July 31) midweek chart update with 'Wake Me Up' and the track is likely to pass the half a million sales barrier before Sunday.

The song looks set to remain at the top spot for what will be the third consecutive week and the Official Charts Company explained that as of Sunday, July 28 it had shifted an impressive 421,000 copies.

One Direction's 'Best Song Ever' has dropped 2 positions to No.4, Lana Del Rey's 'Summertime Sadness' has climbed an impressive 24 places to sit comfortably at No.8, and Calvin Harris's 'Thinking About You' finished at 10.

There's a new entry at No.11 from Eliza Doolittle with 'Big When I Was Little', Demi Lovato's 'Heart Attack' has fallen to No.40, and Rudimental's 'Right Here' has debuted at 38.
