Jessie J on leaving The Voice: "I have to get back to the core of who I am"

Jessie J has reiterated that she left The Voice to concentrate on her music career.

The singer was a coach on the BBC TV talent show for two series between 2011 and 2012 but she left earlier this year alongside Danny O'Donoghue.

The 'Wild' singer is due to unleash her second album later this year and she told Marie Claire that she simply did not have time to dedicate to The Voice with a tour looming. Jessie J said:

"They send the schedule through and, for 40 of the 42 days they need me for filming, I was on tour. I had to think about what I was prioritising – my music or The Voice?"

She added: "I wouldn't be on that show if it wasn't for the music. I have to get back to the core of who I am."

The singer also appears in a photoshoot for the magazine, with one set of pictures showing Jessie J going topless apart from a cream blazer.
