Ed Sheeran has revealed his desire to create a country album.

The British star is more associated with pop influenced singer-songwriter material but it seems a change in direction could be in the offing.

Sheeran has been touring this year with Taylor Swift in North America and it appears her country themed music may have inspired the 'A Team' man.

He told Yahoo Music: "Country music is some of the best-written music in the world, so yeah, one day, I would keep my mind open to doing a country record."

Sheeran added: "Hunter Hayes has some sick music. There's so much good country music out there."

Taylor Swift and Sheeran's North America tour meanwhile is due to run until September.
