Backstreet Boys star explains decision to quit the band

Singer Kevin Richardson of the Backstreet Boys fame has revealed that he decided to leave the group back in 2006 because he felt as though he had nothing more to give.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, the hitmaker confessed that walking away from the band was difficult, but at the time it was the best thing he could have done: "I didn't have anything left in the tank. In 2006, there were some things I wanted to do in my own life and start a family and be normal for a while... I didn't feel inspired."

He then opened up about rejoining the Backstreet Boys and added he had a new lease of creativity that he knew should be directed at the band: "Now, recently I felt inspired and wanted to create again and make music again."
