Justin Bieber will be investigated by police over whether he had any part to play in a recent nightclub fight.

A man was taken to hospital in the early hours of Sunday (August 4) morning after a fight outside a New York club and it had been claimed that Bieber's entourage had been involved.

Initial reports suggested that the Canadian singer had argued with the man inside the club before he was hurt outside. A rep for Bieber stated that the 'Believe' star had no part to play in any altercation.

However, Southampton Police sergeant Todd Spencer told the New York Post that they are trying to discover whether Bieber encouraged his staff to attack the victim.

He added: "That would be part of the investigation, whether Bieber directed them or not."

Soon after news of the reported fight broke, Bieber meanwhile tweeted: "The most recent rumors might be the funniest of all. Where do u get this stuff??? #focusedonreality."
