Rizzle Kicks: 'Modern hip-hop is driven by ego, there's a lack of intelligence'

'Mama Do The Hump' hitmakers Rizzle Kicks have revealed that they aren't impressed by the music being released in the hip-hop genre at the moment because it's all preoccupied with ego and status.

The pair spoke to the Daily Star newspaper about their opinions on it and member Jordan Stephens explained that he feels as though the integrity that was once there is now dwindling: "My personal take on hip-hop isn't really being satisfied currently."

"There's a big thing in America, a big hip-hop vibe that I feel is quite ego orientated and I don't find that inspiring. There are hip-hop artists who are able to say things that are phenomenal. There are other greats, but maybe there's a lack of intelligence."

Meanwhile, the lads are due to host a Google+ hangout later this evening at 6pm and told their fans via Twitter that if they tune in they'll be treated to some exciting things: "Today at 6PM we're doing a live stream where we'll premier a new track live and give away a one off vinyl. Watch at http://rizzlekicks.com/hangout."
