Channel 4's One Direction documentary doesn't impress in the ratings battle

Last night (August 15), a special one-off documentary on boyband One Direction and their 'crazy' fans aired in the UK on Channel 4, but it failed to attract a big audience.

The programme, entitled 'Crazy About One Direction', aired later in the evening on the popular channel, but statistics have now shown that it only managed to pull in 505k viewers at 10pm (3.1%). The latest episode of 'Big Brother', for a point of comparison, attracted an impressive 1.4 million (9.0%).

Followers of the 'Little Things' heartthrobs reacted negatively to the broadcast and band member Liam Payne even took to his official Twitter page to share his distaste at the content, writing:

"We couldn't give a f**k what any documentary says there dramatised for entertainment and full of bulls**t anyway we all know how hard you work for us and see it everyday at our shows."

Directioners joined in with the tweeting and one fan wrote: "Channel 4, thank you, thank you for ruining everything, cheers to you for being the biggest joke of the year."
