Richard and Adam face tough competition for fourth week at No.1

Singers Richard and Adam have managed to hold on to their No.1 position in the UK albums chart this afternoon (August 21), but are facing a fight if they want to stay at the top until the numbers are confirmed on Sunday.

'The Impossible Dream' remains at the top spot, but John Mayer's 'Paradise Valley' has debuted at No.3, Rudimental's 'Home' is a non-mover at No.2, and Travis have made an appearance at 4 with their new offering 'Where You Stand'.

The Official Charts Company has confirmed that there are only 2,300 copies currently separating the Top 4.

Elsewhere in the albums chart update, Earl Sweatshirt's 'Doris' has entered at a respectable No.9, Emeli Sande's 'Our Version Of Events' has climbed 4 places to sit at No.25 after 80 weeks on the chart, and One Direction's 'Take Me Home' has shot up to No.23 after their movie premiere last night.

Richard and Adam's album has been certified Gold and they took to their collective Twitter page last night to encourage their fans to continue supporting the release: "If you know anyone who has not bought our album yet, please ask them to try and get it this week. Stay at No1."
