'X Factor' singer Chris Maloney attacked on night out

Singer Chris Maloney, who rose to fame after appearing on 'The X Factor', has revealed that he was attacked on a recent night out after attending a party at The Bootle Arms in Melling, near Liverpool.

Speaking to The Sunday Mirror about the ordeal, Maloney explained that he was with a very young family member at the time and he can't believe what happened:

"I heard one shout, 'You're that guy off X Factor'. Then they all started. They called my nan, who's 77, a slag and a sl*t. Luckily she wasn't with me. As we drove out of the car park, the car window was smashed, I was scared for my life and so worried about my nephew. He was crying and there were shards of glass on his legs. We all screamed."

"X Factor needs a better support network, so people know what to expect. I was very naive when I went on the show. There are always a few who take things too far. I've had to grow such a thick skin."

He added: "I don't venture out at night unless I have at least three people with me. I don't get public transport because of safety. I even went to the doctor because I felt so shaken up."
