Australian rapper Iggy Azalea is "obsessive compulsive" over her music.

The 23-year-old star is gearing up for the release of her album 'The New Classic'.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz, Azalea admits she is a perfectionist when it comes to getting her records just right.

She explained: ''It's for the most part done. I've got all the tracks done but I'm actually very obsessive compulsive and I'll go back, go over things and re-write certain parts, add different music in, and just build it up to make it perfect.

The blonde star added: ''The skeleton of it's done. It's about 85 per cent complete.''

In a recent interview with Billboard, Azalea gushed about working with Beyoncé. She is set to join the superstar on the 17-date Australia leg of her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour as the opening act.

She said: "I met her at Chime for Change, which was a Gucci charity event I did in England with her [and] that she invited me to do. After which, I did a few shows here in New York at the Bowery and she sent some of her people down to check out what they thought of my show. Apparently she liked it and they called up the next day and said, 'Do you want to come on tour?'

"I had to keep it secret for so long, almost six weeks. I was just dying! I'm so excited to go on tour with her, so excited!"
