Simon Cowell: 'I'm not great with babies'

Music mogul and 'X Factor' mastermind Simon Cowell has spoken out about his impending fatherhood and confessed that he doesn't feel very confident around babies and young children.

During a radio interview with Magic 105.4 FM's Neil Fox, Cowell explained that having a baby with American socialite Lauren Silverman (pictured below with the star) is an exciting prospect although it does make him nervous as he has no idea about what to expect:

"I do like kids, I'm not sure I can deal with the whole baby thing, I'm not great with babies, but I'm good with kids, you know once they can talk to you and you can talk to them, I think it'll be fantastic!"

Cowell confirmed the surprising news back in August and issued a statement, in which he described himself as 'ready' for the role:

"I’m ready for that role, I’m very happy and very excited. Things are changing in my life right now, for the better. I'm proud to be a dad. It's something I hadn't thought of before, but now I know I feel good about it."
