Backstreet Boys beat One Direction and 'N Sync in 'Best Boyband Ever' poll

American heartthrobs Backstreet Boys have topped a poll conducted by Entertainment Weekly to find the world's most popular boyband.

Impressively, the superstars came out on top in each of the five categories they appeared in and beat the likes of Boyz II Men, 'N Sync, New Kids On The Block and One Direction.

They won the Best Dancers category with a whopping 65%, got 42% for Best Group Appearance, and won the Best Music Video title with 46%.

The 'I Want It That Way' hitmakers also came out on top in the Best Vocal Moments and Best Live Performances sections of the week long poll on EW.com.

'N Sync, meanwhile, recently reformed for a one-off performance at the 2013 MTV VMAs and treated the audience along with viewers at home to a medley of their fantastic pop hits.
