Producer Mike WiLL Made It has spoken out in defense of Miley Cyrus, who he has been working with recently, and revealed that she is approaching her career with a lighthearted sense of fun, which people seem to take the wrong way. 

He explained that she's fully aware of the criticism she's been receiving and doesn't care about it because she isn't taking everything as seriously as the industry expects:

"She's 20 and she likes having fun. She doesn't take it as seriously as people think. She's not like I'm gonna go out here and I'm gonna twerk better than everyone else. She even said she knows she's a singer not a twerker. That's her real talent."

He also told Hot New Hip Hop that her ability to incorporate and work with different genres is impressive, and she tackles anything put in front of her: "I look at her like how I do music. She is a fan of all music, just like I am. A lot of times, older people don’t get the new generation. The new generation will listen to a pop song, a hard ass hood song, and come back and listen to another pop song. '23' is a representation of that and for those people."
