Charlotte Church to deliver BBC Radio 6 Music's 2013 John Peel Lecture

Hitmaker Charlotte Church is set to host the BBC Radio 6 Music John Peel lecture, which will be about women and their representation in music.

She will give the presentation at the Radio Festival in Salford on Monday, October 14 and it will then be made available as a free download the following day.

BBC Radio 6 Music's head of programs, James Stirling, explained that:

"Radio 6 Music can challenge the norm, so for Charlotte to question and debate the roles held by women within the music economy encapsulates the opinionated spirit of 6 Music."

Church will also be interviewed by Lauren Laverne during Weekend Woman's Hour on BBC Radio 4 on Saturday, October 12 and Laverne said that she's looking forward to chatting with the star:

"I'm thrilled to be asked to present Radio 4's program Woman's Hour for one day only, to pull apart the thorny subject of Women In Music. I'm looking forward to hearing Charlotte's insights as a prelude to the 6 Music John Peel Lecture."
