Blue's Duncan James declared bankrupt

Blue star Duncan James has revealed that he was declared bankrupt earlier this autumn just weeks before his boyband's comeback tour was due to begin.

The 'All Rise' heartthrob was listed as bankrupt by the High Court on September 12 and confessed that he didn't expect his career to go on hiatus so kept spending over the years despite taking a cut in earnings:

His financial troubles were revealed just months after bandmate Antony Costa spoke out about being completely broke after Blue stopped performing and recording together. Costa told the Mail Online that he continued to live as he had during the height of his fame and was shocked to discover how quickly his money ran out:

"I went from earning £250,000 a month on a tour to £400 a month acting in Blood Brothers. I wasn't saving any of my money along the way and I had champagne taste with lemonade money in the end. I thought Blue was going to last forever and any money I did have left at the end of Blue I wasn't advised on how to save it but I don't blame anyone for that."

Westlife's Shane Filan also surprised fans recently by admitting that he was forced to declare himself bankrupt towards the end of his music career.
