The nominees for this year's American Music Awards have finally been unveiled and country-pop sensation Taylor Swift is one of the frontrunners with an impressive total of 5 nods. 

The blonde beauty is up for Artist of the Year, Favourite Female Artist (pop/rock), Favourite Album (pop/rock) for 'Red', Favourite Female Country Artist, and Favourite Country Album also for 'Red'. 

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are just ahead with a grand total of 6 nominations, which include Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year Presented By Kohl's, Single of the Year for 'Thrift Shop', Favourite Band/Duo/Group (pop/rock), Favourite Artist (rap/hip-hop), and Favourite Artist (rap/hip-hop). 

Other music stars to be recognised in the various categories include One Direction, who earned themselves 2 nominations for Favourite Band/Duo/Group and Favourite Album (pop/rock) for 'Take Me Home', and Rihanna with 4 nods.
