One Direction are now selling more calendars in Britain than anyone else.

The pop group release an annual calendar each year and they are snapped up by hordes of eager fans at Christmas.

Amazon UK have now confirmed that One Direction's effort has now become their best selling calendar, beating traditional favourite Cliff Richard.

The veteran had topped the calendar chart every year since 1998, but One Direction have reigned supreme in the last few years.

Amazon EU vice president Xavier Garambois commented: “Before 2011, no-one could get near Cliff Richard at the top of the calendar charts but 1D’s unrivalled popularity has seen them shoot to the top of the all-time bestsellers list, almost doubling Cliff Richard’s all-time sales in just three years."

Cheryl Cole meanwhile beat off competition from Kylie Minogue to top the list of the best-selling female calendar icons.
