Lorde wants to write for Rihanna: 'It would be a challenge to step out of my body'

'Royals' singer Lorde has revealed that she is keen to write songs for huge pop artists and hopes to be able to collaborate with the likes of Rihanna and Ellie Goulding.

Speaking to Clash magazine, the New Zealand-based rising star explained that she respects a lot of superstars who have carved out impressive careers for themselves and would like to contribute to their success:

"I haven't written for other artists yet but I definitely want to. Obviously lyrics are a huge part of my music, and they're so personal to me, so...It'll be such a challenge to step out of my body. I can't wait."

"Rihanna would be fun to write for because she's done everything. And I'd love to write for Ellie Goulding, actually."

Lorde added that she isn't as excited to work with girlbands although Korean pop all-female acts are an exception to the rule: "Girlbands are only cool if they're so ridiculous it's awesome, like the K-Pop girlbands with twelve people who rule the country. I'd write for a Korean girlband, definitely - some of their melodies are the best pop."
