Michael Jackson has been as the highest-earning deceased celebrity.

The singer, who died in 2009 as a result of a propofol intoxication, earned an estimated $160m (£98.8m) between June 2012 and June 2013.

This hefty total ensured that he topped Forbes' posthumous rich list, with Elvis Presley coming second with earnings of $55m (£34m).

Third on the list is Peanuts creator Charles M Schulz ($37m (£22.9m)) with Elizabeth Taylor ($25m (£15.4m)) following in fourth.

Bob Marley is fifth on the list whilst John Lennon is seventh.

A court case surrounding Michael Jackson's death meanwhile recently cleared This Is It concert promoters AEG Live of negligence in relation to hiring the doctor who ultimately killed the singer.
