Susan Boyle has announced that her upcoming duet with Elvis Presley will act as a Christmas charity single.

As previously reported, the Britain's Got Talent star is due to release the 'O Come, All Ye Faithful' 'collaboration' on December 8 from her new album 'Home for Christmas', which will hit shelves on November 25.

Digital technology has been used to marry the two singer's voices together and Boyle has now confirmed that money raised from the song will go towards Save The Children.

She said in a statement: "Duetting with Elvis was beyond my wildest dreams. And now that this is able to raise money and help children is simply fantastic.

"I've had the privilege of spending time with families from a Fast programme - Families And Schools Together - that is run at a school in Glasgow. To see the money raised in action and the difference it makes to these families is wonderful. It really does help people. The children from the Fast programme also joined me for the music video. We had a lovely two days and the children were fabulous. They were all stars."

Boyle's last full studio album came in the shape of 2012's 'Standing Ovation: The Greatest Songs from the Stage'.

The Scot shot to fame on Britain's Got Talent back in 2009 after impressing the judges with a rendition of the Les Misérables tune 'I Dreamed a Dream'.
