John Newman: 'I'm heading to the USA in the new year'

Singer John Newman has revealed plans to head across the pond to the USA in 2014 for a series of concerts.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the 'Love Me Again' hitmaker confessed that although he hasn't had time to perform in the states this year, he will be making it a priority in the new year:

"We've run out of minutes this year, but we're going out there in January. America is looking really good already though."

"My label have done a brilliant release strategy. They've released 'Love Me Again' as an EP to get interest, and they're doing a 'complete my album' on iTunes when it comes out. It's really exciting - America is the big one. From what I've heard, it's great fun and you see great progression. Now's the time for UK acts to do it."

Newman also recently opened up about his aspirations for his career, revealing that he wants to enjoy longevity: "I haven't made it – I've still got 50 years to go. People might call me a flop in 50 years and people might not be listening to my music, but I'll still be making it and that's the plan."
