Lady Gaga's 'X Factor' performance attracts host of complaints

Over the weekend, modern pop icon Lady Gaga performed on 'The X Factor' and it has now been revealed that ITV has received hundreds of complaints from angry viewers regarding her live set.

During the raunchy routine, the superstar stripped to her underwear and the show was broadcast at a time when children would be likely to be tuning in. TV watchdog agency Ofcom has confirmed that more than 100 complaints were registered and another 60 people contacted ITV directly with their protests.

A spokesperson for ITV issued a statement on the controversy, which reads: "We do not believe Lady Gaga’s performance was inappropriate for the family audience of the show, which has an established tradition of performances from the biggest music stars. She’s well known for her highly individual style."

Ofcom added: "We will assess all the complaints received on this issue before deciding whether to investigate."

On Saturday night (October 26), the 'Applause' sensation left little to the imagination after she took the stage at London's famous G-A-Y club and took off all of her clothes in front of an excited crowd.
