Britney Spears and Lady Gaga collaboration won't happen

Producer William Orbit has confirmed that the rumoured collaboration between pop superstars Lady Gaga and Britney Spears on a track named 'Alien' will not happen.

The duet won't appear on Spears' forthcoming new album 'Britney Jean' and Orbit told his Twitter followers that it definitely doesn't exist:

"I see the rumours about a GG vocal collaboration on 'Alien' have died down. U prob already know it, but can confirm: No collab."

Earlier this month, Spears sat down with British funnyman Alan Carr and when asked if there was any truth in the reports that she had Lady Gaga on her new record looked coy and refused to comment apart from saying "you'll have to wait and see", fuelling speculation that a duet might take place.

'Britney Jean' is due to be released on December 3 and recently confessed that writing songs for it was very therapeutic: "Yes definitely, [writing for the album] was like therapy. Most of the songs are about celebrating having a good time. But I went through a break-up with this record so some of the stuff that I went through is on the record."
