Eminem heading for No.1 with 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' in the UK

Rap superstar Eminem has shot straight in at No.1 on the UK albums chart this afternoon (November 6) with his new offering, 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2'.

Since going on sale yesterday, it has shifted over 73,000 copies and is on its way to becoming this year's fastest-selling album. It has debuted at the top spot in today's midweek update, beating tough competition from the likes of James Arthur with his self-titled first album (No.2.) and Tinie Tempah's 'Demonstration' (No.3).

Former Westlife singer Shane Filan is enjoying success at No.5 with his debut solo album, 'You & Me', Katy Perry is at No.9 with 'Prism', and Arcade Fire's chart-topping record 'Reflektor' has dropped to No.10

Elsewhere in the Top 40, David Bowie has this week's highest climber with 'Next Day', which has risen 85 positions to No.14 following the deluxe edition's release, The Wanted are at No.7 with 'Word Of Mouth', and One Direction's 'Take Me Home' is at 37.
