Ariana Grande has confirmed plans to release a new song every week in the lead up to Christmas.

The US songstress will kick off the campaign with a cover of Wham!'s iconic 'Last Christmas' on November 19.

Taking to Twitter to speak about the news, Grande, who recently confirmed that she is dating The Wanted's Nathan Sykes, said:

"I'm releasing new music for Christmas! New song every week as a countdown to the holidays starting Nov19. Beyond excited to share them w/ U!"

She added: "The 1st song #LastChristmas out Nov 19. I can't wait for u to hear our spin on it. There will be originals as well! Hope u love the music."

The project is similar to Justin Bieber's Music Mondays campaign, which sees the Canadian release a new track every week until the festive season reaches its peak.

Both acts share the same manager in Scooter Braun.
