Eminem: “I'm not an attention seeker”

Eminem has opened up on dealing with fame, insisting that he isn't looking for attention.

The US rapper's outspoken lyrics and acerbic tunes have often landed the 'Stan' man in hot water.

More recently, Eminem had to refute allegations that he is homophobic after using apparent gay slurs in the track 'Rap God'.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe, the rapper said that he isn't one to actively look for attention or publicity, saying:

"I've never been an attention seeker. I don't like to go in public and walk around and be like, 'Here I am'."

Talking meanwhile about his previous addiction problems, Eminem said: "I think back then it was so big in my head. Let me take this and this, drink this and this and get through it, as opposed to see the people, connect with the crowd and have fun with it."

The rapper released his latest album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 earlier this month and it hit No. 1 in both the US and UK.
